A quarter of a century of civil conflict in Sri Lanka had a huge influence on the country’s socio-economic and environmental conditions. International aid was helpful, but importation answers were unable to fix core local problems on a long-term basis. So, we were determined to make it possible for the locals to tackle their own challenges.

To increase access to and the provision of services, we maintain tight links with government officials, religious dignitaries, and leaders of the community at large as well as the Rural Development Society (RDS), Women’s Rural Development Societies (WRDS) and Youth-led organizations. In areas including legal, education, and social services, we have developed strong working relationships with representatives of the local, provincial, and federal government officials.
